There are many timber products used for stud work available on the market. With such a huge choice there is naturally a large gulf between quality products and cheaper alternatives, particularly home-grown timbers.
Tru-Stud is designed to be straighter. Tru-stud engineered studs and batten have defects such as dead knots, larger knots and splits machined out. The timber itself is kiln dried to a target moisture content of 14-16%. After the selection process is complete the shorter lengths are finger jointed to together to produce the desired length. The end result of this process is a product offering superior performance and minimal movement.
Specifying Tru-Stud for your project is a wise choice, some inferior timber products are notorious for bowing warping and twisting, especially home-grown timber. Using a high quality timber such as Tru-Stud on your project will reduce installation time, reduce unwanted waste, minimise costly call backs and complaints, saving time and money.
Product Information
Tru Stud is produced from slow grown timber sourced from northern Europe. The tight grain of the wood and engineering process ensure that Tru-Stud is perfect for use in stud work, floating floors and many other structural applications.
The timber is finger jointed as per standard EN385 in length to aid stability, reduce defects and maintain straightness. Purbond-HB530 polyurethane is used to adhere the finger joints, this adhesive is waterproof and extremely durable. Tru-Stud is kiln dried, and strength graded to C24 as per standard EN 14081. Finally they are treated with Vacsol Aqua 6108, this keeps them protected from moisture influence for up to 60 years if used correctly.
Tru-Stud is intended for internal applications only.
