1.	Ensure posts are firmly secure in the ground; a fence ‘flapping’ or ‘rocking’ in strong winds will gradually tear itself apart.
2.	Ensure posts are not standing in water; water around the base will speed up rot & decay at the point which is most vulnerable – where it goes into the ground.
3.	Ensure any nails or other fixings that may have worked loose are hammered in, or tightened up as appropriate.
4.	Replace any gravel boards that are showing signs of decay. This is to be expected as they are there to be ‘sacrificial’ and protect the main fence above, from decay.
5.	Replace any damaged or split components as soon as convenient to keep the fence structurally sound.
6.	If the fence has been coated with stain or paint, ensure it is regularly recoated.
7.	Ensure no overhanging shrubs or trees are liable to knock against the fence and cause damage, especially in windy conditions.
8.	Keep down weed and grass growth along the base line of the fence; good airflow will ensure better drying after wetting, which will benefit service life.

Timber fencing will not last forever but with regular care and maintenance its life can be prolonged. Left to deteriorate it can become an expensive and time consuming problem.

Take time to maintain your fence regularly – it really does pay off !

A colourful and child friendly alternative to traditional timber decking, Walksure is ideal for use in most external commercial, leisure and communal settings. It is also perfect for use on ramps or steps alongside a traditional softwood decking.

The decking is independently tested to BS 7976 part 2 to conform to UK slip resistance guidelines. What’s more, in comparison to other low slip products on the market, Walksure is less abrasive to people if they were to fall, making it the perfect choice for high traffic areas such as schools, playgrounds, public areas, pool surrounds, hotels & pubs and leisure complexes.

We stock Walksure in ‘Charcoal/Red’ as standard, although six other colours can be manufactured to blend perfectly with landscapes such as turf, brick and asphalt. Please contact us for more details about this timber decking and the colour options available.

LunaComp is designed and manufactured in Finland. This alternative to traditional timber decking is a new, innovative and durable wood composite product that will retain its colour, strength and shape in all weathers. It has a patented production process that combines stable thermowood fibres with high quality polymers resulting in an attractive, low maintenance timber decking with a natural feel and contemporary look.

There are many advantages to using LunaComp. The way that it is produced means that it is wear resistant, low slip, low maintenance and splinter free. All of this makes it ideal for use in hotels, pubs and restaurants, balconies, swimming pools and, of course, in your garden.

LunaComp is also environmentally friendly. One of the two principle ingredients, polypropylene, is 100% recycled and non toxic to the environment with no PVC used, while 65% of the product is made up by wood fibres which are a by-product from the production of thermowood. There are no waste products from the production, even the water is re-used in a closed loop system!

For more information about LunaComp or any of our other timber decking products, please contact us.

Beaumont are the first UK distributor to offer LP's 225i from stock.

Why are we stocking I-Joists? The new Part L Building Regulations demand a 25% improvement in energy efficiency performance. The most practical and cost effective way of meeting the new requirements is by improving the fabric of the building. By improving the thermal performance and air tightness of the dwelling, ventilation will become a critical issue which will force our builders to consider the use of Mechanically Ventilated Heat Recovery systems (MVHR's) in the fabric of their buildings. This will create more ventilation ducting which the traditional 8" x 2" and 9" x 2" joists will not be able to accommodate.

The 225i can accommodate up to 148mm round service holes making it easier to install MVHR systems. These joists are also straighter and more uniform in strength, stiffness and size than traditional timber and are less prone to issues such as twisting, warping and shrinking.

It is our goal to offer our customers the latest and best products to help them meet the ever changing building requirements.
